From its modest beginning as the National Institute of Medical Sciences, NIMS University was enacted by the Government of Rajasthan, and recognized by the Government of India under the University Grants Act of 1956.

Medical College - PhD, MS, MD, MBBS, Dentistry, Nursing, Paramedical, Physiotherapy etc. NIMS has its own 1000 bed multi-specialty hi-tech hospital.

Engineering and Advance Engineering - Masters and Bachelors level studies in traditional engineering subjects such as biotech, mechanical & computer. NIMS also is among the very few Universities in India that has the technology and the faculty to focus on advanced engineering areas such as nuclear, aerospace, energy, power etc.

The Faculty of Management & Technology – offers programs in business & computing ranging from Bachelors to PhD with options of integrated courses. NIMS University, firmly believes that skilled management & technology has driven the world in turbulent times, and still continues to fuel momentum for growth and development. Accordingly the NIMS MBA is designed to provide bright, creative young people with a high standard of education taught as a combination of theory and practicals.

Faculties of Law, Arts and Humanities – Programs taught under these faculties are many. Some example are media & mass communication, theatre & film, fashion technology, law, fashion & interior design, hotel management, and architecture etc.
